Since 2021, Paul A. Canzano has excelled in his role as the chief executive officer at Confidential, a California-based business where he provides expertise in estate and construction management. He supervises and manages a diverse portfolio of assets—including real estate, vehicles, businesses, and investments—on behalf of individuals, families, or organizations. Additionally, he’s involved in home construction, renovation, historical restorations, researching, and implementing advanced technologies, as well as overseeing recruitment, training and management of employees, and all other endeavors aimed at affecting positive and ongoing enhancements in the daily lives of his clients. Mr. Canzano distinguishes himself from others by bringing a diverse range of professional experience, such as construction, finance, and law, which has enabled him to secure high-level roles and adapt to changing landscapes in the business world.
Growing up in a large Italian family, Mr. Canzano began honing his skills in the kitchen, alongside his mother, whom he regards as “the finest chef” he ever knew, at just 10 years old. This led to work in the catering business throughout his college years to help support himself financially while in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in criminal law and justice at Glassboro State College. In addition to his culinary experience, he also undertook various construction-related roles at this time, engaging with subcontractors, pouring concrete, bricklaying, and home framing. Upon graduating, he gained further construction expertise at his brother’s historical restoration business. He then entered into the professional culinary industry through a chance encounter with a woman who provided him with business cards for two homes that brought him to roles as a sous chef at Josefina’s Restaurant in Beverly Hills and a pastry chef-turned-head chef at Joe Allen Restaurant in New York.
Afterward, Mr. Canzano expanded his career to include estate management positions for notable individuals such as a former president, a television and film producer, and a client within the fashion industry. He then pursued asset management and subsequently advanced to chief executive officer of Wealth Management for the U.S. News & Wealth Report, chief operating officer and director of residences for family office at Ziff Brothers Investments, project manager at G&G Projects, director of properties for Tishman Speyer, and director of operations at Rosebud Ventures. He has since been responsible for overseeing the acquisition and management of personal assets and entrepreneurial ventures for numerous affluent families and prominent individuals, many of whom prefer maintaining a discreet profile. Upon reflection of his robust career, he takes great pride in his ability to take on and successfully complete seemingly impossible projects for those who need them. On a personal level, he’s the proud father of two sons, Alex, who’s involved with a startup company in Los Angeles, and Austen, a private chef and wellness coach.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Canzano envisions a continued focus on delivering consulting services. Additionally, his involvement in establishing a boutique office for a technology-oriented family in Northern California has ignited a passion for similar pursuits. His gradual transition to retirement will give him more time to attend to the construction of his retirement home and indulge in more travel with his life partner, Marosario. They have plans to create their retirement haven in Mexico.
